Story
Many years ago my son Alex was unfortunate enough to be extremely ill, and suffered two collapsed lungs when he was born. We were told that he was very unlikely to survive, similar to his two sisters who had died at birth with pulmonary hydrops. Alex was admitted as a patient to Crumlin Children’s Hospital. It is thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff in Crumlin Children’s Hospital that I now have a most lovely healthy young man that I am privileged to call my son.
Alex turns 25 this summer and we have decided that it would be a good year to run the New York City marathon together, as it will also be its 50th year. We will be running in aid of Crumlin Hospital, so that we can thank them for all of the wonderful work all those years ago and help them to continue this work for other families.
Throughout the year, we plan to host various fundraising events in order to raise money for this worthy cause, to thank for all their wonderful work and to help support other families who are in the same situation that we were in 25 years ago.
