My aim is to help raise £10,000 for The St. Peter and St. James Hospice in Brighton, in memory of my mother who lost her battle with cancer last month on May the 6th 2014.
The medical and care professionals who looked after my mother are special people and The St. Peter and St. James Hospice solely relies on donations to fund future care. I am hoping that the money I raise, will enable other families to receive the same great care as my mother
All of St. Peter and St. James Hospice services are free of charge to patients and their loved ones. They receive less than 14% of their funding from the Government and have to raise more than £2.6 million every year through fundraising. Thats £7,200 every day! They are enormously reliant on the continued goodwill and generosity of their supporters to be able to provide their vital services.
Between being diagnosed with cancer and her condition worsening enough to be admitted to The St. Peter and St. James Hospice my mother was able to organise, participate and support several charity fund raisers that in total managed to raise £5000 for the hospice. I wish to bring this total to £10,000.
To raise my target of £5,000, I am challenging myself to complete 10 extreme calisthenics (gymnastic) holds, on 10 extreme vehicles in just 10 hours on the 30th of August. The extreme machines will range from power boats, super cars and a helicopter to tanks and even a submarine! We will keep you up to date as new machines are confirmed for the challenge and with some of my training in preparation for the day. The holds will range from handstands to human flags and the planche (probably the hardest of the lot)
On the day there will be a camera crew videoing and photographing the challenge and we will be keeping everyone up to date live via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with pics and vids of the holds and machines as they happen.
I really appreciate any and all financial support you can give to help me reach my target of £5000. All donations are welcome little or large!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for visiting my JustGiving page.
