Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Running the London Marathon has been a personal goal of mine for a long time. Being a keen runner and having run various races up to half marathons before, I have never had the opportunity to compete in a full marathon.
Not only have I been lucky enough to secure a place in the 2016 Virgin London Marathon, but I have been given the opportunity to run for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.
The charity receives most of its funding from public and corporate donations, fundraising, events, grants, and through eleven shops. It relies on support from volunteers and fundraisers.
The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity not only supports research trials to develop new cancer drugs and treatments, but has award-winning centers to help and support people living with cancer. They provide a friendly, relaxing place where cancer patients can go – with their families, friends and carers – for support and counselling. They can also have therapies that work together with their medical treatment and reduce stress including massage and reflexology - and these services are AT NO CHARGE.
Like many other people, my family has been affected by cancer after having lost a close family member in December 2014 so this is a cause that is very close to my heart.
This is why it is important that we can dig deep to help with the fundraising and keep these services accessible to those that need it.
I have pledged to do all the hard work so all I am asking is to please sponsor as much as you can to help me raise (and preferably beat) my target of £2000.
