Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
16 years ago life changed in a big way, 16 years on I’m still learning about diabetes daily.
It can be a challenge, good days and bad but through nearly 16,000+ injections, even more finger pricks, many low blood sugars, high sugars, hospital visits and good readings in those 16 years, I’m doing a pretty good job and would say it’s something to celebrate! However more awareness needs to be raised. Most of you will know someone with some form of diabetes but not really any idea how this impacts life daily, short term and long term.
Ask yourself this, would you be able to inject yourself around 5 times a day like I do? Prick your finger around 5 times a day like I do? This can be more or less depending on what goes on day to day and differ for each person. Had you asked me this 16 years ago the answer would of been absolutely no way. However I do this to survive.
By donating towards my swim you can help fund research to find a cure!
