Thank you all SO much for your fantastic support over what has almost been a year since I first signed up to marathon number one. It's been a pretty intense but rewarding experience and I surprised even myself by how dedicated I was over this period. But I never forgot why I was doing it, which is what kept me going. It's all for a great cause and I am proud to say that WE have raised over £3500 so far for both Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Cancer Research UK.

I am truly thankful to Breakthrough Breast Cancer for giving me the opportunity to run in the London Marathon, it really has been an amazing experience and one I'll never forget. It was a beautiful day to be running in London and such a colourful event in every way. Despite the pain from about 26kms in, the atmosphere, noise, music and sheer excitement of the spectators was amazing and definitely helped me through my toughest moments. But it was also Mum and Dad being there and my amazing friends cheering me on which was priceless and I can't thank them enough for being there to support me. I was very pleased to finish in 3hrs 50mins, 16 minutes better than my first one in Singapore which was 4hrs 06mins.

I of course want to take this opportunity to thank all those people who sponsored me and donated all this money in support of me and a great cause - you have been superb throughout and I have seriously felt the love!! I have raised more than I hoped to raise so thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.  

I'm now going to have to find myself another challenge to fill the hole this will leave...so watch this space!! Xxx

For some crazy reason – a mini mid-life crisis perhaps - I have signed up to do the Standard Chartered marathon here in Singapore in December...but even crazier, I discovered 4 months later  (Nov 2013) that I have a 'Gold Bond' place at the London Marathon 2014 with Breakthrough Cancer!

I only started running less than 5 years ago when I arrived in Singapore and since, have signed up to some 10km runs and a few half marathons in Singapore. Every time I have finished a half, I am absolutely exhausted and wonder why I would choose to sign up to another one. ..And then I go and sign up for the full marathon...which has turned into two in quite a short space of time!

So being slap bang on the equator, Singapore is one of the most humid countries in the world and walking to the shops can mean you lose a pint of fluid never mind running more than 26 miles.

Because I was so keen to do a marathon this year, I not only applied for a place at the 2014 London Marathon, but also signed up to the Stand Chart Singapore (guaranteed place). So, to my absolute amazement I got an email from Breakthrough Cancer to say that they would give me a place in their team to run on behalf of them. 

I never imagined I'd be doing a marathon at all, let alone 2 in 6 months, It’s one of the biggest challenges of my life and what will really help me through this crazy mission is knowing I am running for a good cause which I hope you will support me in....any donations will be truly appreciated and much needed!
