If you can’t use Brain Surgery to pull on a few heart strings, when can you? 👀
In all seriousness, I’d love for something positive to come out of this sh*t show of a year! I’m off for Brain Surgery this weekend and would love to raise a few pennies for this relatively new charity that I’ve been following (mainly because I love Emilia Clarke) but also because I figured this was unfortunately the inevitable path for me and I might be in need of their incredible services one day.
'Same you' do an incredible job of highlighting the surrounding issues of Brain Injury recovery and support young adults who need rehabilitation.
So, please do give whatever you can and if I come out of surgery a little messed up then give some more for good measure! 😬 Just kidding, sorry mum.. Hope to thank all of your beautiful faces in person soon, but until then, know that I send virtual hugs to you all and can’t wait to get back to enjoying life to it’s fullest.
1 in 3 people will have an Acquired Brain Injury at some point in their lives - SameYou want to help give people the best possible chance of recovery. SameYou works to increase access to recovery for young adults after leaving hospital and to facilitate innovations in specialist nurse training, fund clinical research and develop evidence for policy change. Their long-term vision is to work with neurorehabilitation leaders to develop a blueprint for a new type of neuro-recovery centre helping people find their way to recovery.
Pennies or pounds, it will all make an incredible difference to not just my recovery, but so many young adults like me who are going through tough times. A million thanks and lots of love,
Ash x
