Thanks for your time to look at my fundraising page.

I have signed up for the York 10Km run and I am planning to raise £300 for The Rainbow Centre – Sri Lanka, who provides, education, welfare, medical assistance and loving support to children who live on the street, in slum housing and in conditions that threaten their survival

Well I feel very lucky to have two healthy and happy kids. We are able to provide everything they need. But we see lots of children out there who can only dream of the life of our kids. It saddens me that there are kids going to sleep hungry every day, being abused or not given any chance to have an education. Frankly I can’t live with that knowledge and not doing something to at least try and help. I am sure we all wanted to contribute, even in this small way, to give these innocent kids a better life. Donating a small amount will not jeopardize our budgets but we can make a big difference to their life. This satisfaction will be priceless. The children who come to the Rainbow Centre live on the street, in shacks or in shelters in slum areas without water, sanitation or electricity. Their parents are unable to provide them with adequate care. Without the Rainbow Centre’s intervention, these children would not be able to go to school because they would be expected to work to support their families.
