The Therapy Team at Arthur Rank Hospice have been keen to encourage patients to keep active and have set up an exercise group. Evidence shows that exercise has a hugely positive impact on well-being and quality of life.

One of the reasons Medi-Motion bikes are proving so popular with the patient group is because it is accessible to all patients, regardless of their ability. The Medi-Motion bike can be used by patients in wheelchairs, patients who cannot actively move their legs, and it also has the function to cycle with their arms.

Here are just two comments of patients who have used the bike:

“Using that [medi-motion] was the biggest challenge for me and I’m so glad I did it. I really enjoyed it.”

“Cycling again…it felt like a dream…it was wonderful, I could do that all day. Thank you”.

We would like to purchase a second Medi-Motion to meet the demand of our patients and ensure they have the opportunity to exercise. The Medi-Motion is a piece of equipment that has proved to be important for our patients' well being and quality of life.
