Story
I’m sorry.
No, I really am.
Yes, I know I said I would kick the marathon habit after my 2012 insanity mission of doing Boston and London in the space of 6 days. But my excuse is that I wanted to complete all 5 World Majors (those 2, plus New York, Berlin & Chicago). And I did. But then, blow me, did the organisers not come up with a cunning plan to thwart me – they added a 6th!!! L
So yes, once again the creaking limbs are being hurled and battered against the Edinburgh pavements in preparation for another 26.2 miles.
However this one is a bit special – Tokyo! I’m hugely looking forward to the 12 hour flight and 9 hour time difference adding an extra ingredient to the normal ordeal………………….
But seriously, I know it will be the trip of a lifetime and I’m really really thrilled to be going to such an amazing place and to get the chance to experience just a wee bit of Japanese culture.
And of course it is just about enough pretext to test your generosity once again by doing some more fundraising for the Royal National Institute of Blind people. I’ve told you before about my own personal experience of the brilliant support they give to folks of all ages who are affected by blindness or visual impairments – to be honest I can’t give them enough thanks and getting back to what I said at the start I hope you can forgive me for asking for any sponsorship you can give to help them carry on their great work.
Anything you can contribute will be really appreciated – having met the people at the RNIB HQ in London a few times I do know how much it means to them.
So like me on 23 February please dig deep. If you want to make it performance-related that’s fine by me!
Thanks once more for your interest, patience and forgiveness. J
