Story
Several of the Ashe family and friends, together with people from all over Norfolk, are taking part in the Archdeacons' Charge and Picnic, a sponsored walk or run at Wolterton Hall in Norfolk through the generosity of the Hall's new owners, Peter Sheppard and Keith Day. Laps through this beautiful private estate are just 2.5 miles and you can walk or run as many as you like. This year we have a royal patron and look forward to the presence of Their Royal Highnesses, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent (we will be able to watch them land by helicopter).
If you don't want to walk or run, you can just come to enjoy a picnic in the beautiful grounds and browse the craft stall, classic cars on display, visit the second-hand book stall, view some helicopters, go kayaking on the lake or share in others activities for children and young people (including archery). All to the sound of the Dixie Mix Jazz Band with plenty of refreshments on sale.
We are keen to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance because it saved Shelagh's life in 2009. Half the money you donate will go to the Air Ambulance, the other half will support the work of the Church in the Diocese of Norwich (which is why your donation will go to the Diocese of Norwich and then half the total raised will be sent to the Air Ambulance). If you are from the Diocese of Norwich, please leave the name of your parish in your comment so that your money will support the right church. If you are joining us from another Diocese, just let us know when you leave a comment and we will send half the money to your own church.
More details of the Charge and Picnic are available at www.dioceseofnorwich.org/charge
Cheques to “Norwich Diocesan Board of Finance” may be sent to John Ashe, Archdeacon of Lynn, Holly Tree House, Whitwell Road, Sparham, Norwich NR9 5PN
Or you can text your donation by sending ARCH44 followed by the amount you want to give (eg ARCH44 £10) to 70070.
Over the past 7 years we have raised over £100,000. A fantastic achievement on which to build in 2017.
