Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The Polar Academy, led by top Scottish explorer Craig Mathieson, identifies groups of secondary age school children between 14-17 years old who are the 'invisible' kids crushed by a lack of self-esteem through things like bullying or traumatic life events and gives them the chance to redefine their physical and mental limits.
This year (2022) a group of children from Arbroath High School has been chosen to participate in a rigorous ten-month training programme before being immersed in the wilds of Greenland, navigating through some of the world's remotest terrain for 10 days.
This life changing opportunity will enable our children to learn new skills, work in a team, make new friends and make their confidence sore.
The philosophy of the polar academy is 'Inspiration through exploration' and changing mindsets of the children to show them they can achieve anything they dream of doing.
To find out more about the incredible work they do visit www.thepolaracademy.org
We ask for your help in raising funds to enable the Polar Academy to not only take our children on this trip of a lifetime but to ensure more children from other schools around Scotland will have the same opportunity in the future.
Any donation big or small is very much appreciated.
Thank you!
