Story
In April 2018, I, along with some fellow crazies, managed to complete the Virgin Money London Marathon... the hottest, nastiest London Marathon on record I hasten to add.
Little did I know what that would entail! In the build up to the big day the support, the information, the fundraising help and advice, the Facebook Support Group ( #TeamLegend – You know how you are!) were immense.
So, post London, and my ‘I could have done better’ mentality, I was determined to improve both my time and raise more funds... and so here it is my ‘idea’
In April 2019, I'll be 44, and there are 4 Sundays in the 4th month...and on 3 of those Sundays, there are some rather big marathons happening. After blagging a place at the Asics Manchester Marathon (7th April), and taking up a Charity place for the Brighton Marathon (14th April)... I thought..stupidly...why not run one every week of April – culminating in London on the 28th... I know... Madness right!!
So here I am, with 4 out of 4 places confirmed, absolutely cacking it! I've just found out that I missed out on getting a Ballot place for London, I'm hoping against hope for a charity place in London, but if not, the Home of ol' William Shakespeare awaits me on the 28th.
I'll need to dust off my running trainers, check on all my gadgets n gizmos aplenty, and get my post marathon, done no real running since May backside back out on the road.
So – how can you help? It’s going to take a whole bunch of effort, time and miles to get me through this, but as long as I know that I’m raising a bucket load of money for these guys, that will give me the motivation on those cold Tuesday mornings/Sunday afternoon runs in the snow – so get you cards out, fire up your Online Banking – and get donating.. Please!!!
