Story

Dear All,
On Sunday 10th October I will be running in the Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon (13.1miles). Once again I am asking for your much needed support towards raising funds for charity. This year I commiserate old uni. friends who went out to serve in the Armed Forces and never made it home, whilst on a joyous note the date of the run coincides with the ruby wedding anniversary of close family friends who have strong ties to the Armed Services. As such, Help for Heroes has had a particular focus on my mind this year and I have therefore chosen them to be the beneficiaries of your kind donations.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for all your kind support,
Tony

Practical, Direct Support for our Wounded:
"It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes."
Help for Heroes 3rd Anniversary:
"I am delighted to say that, as we celebrate our third anniversary, we have hit a fund raising landmark of £70m raised since we launched in 2007. People across the country have joined together to do their bit for the blokes and created what Prince William recently described as a phenomenon.  This vast sum has been raised by ordinary, decent people who simply want to ensure that those wounded in the service of our country get the very best care and support. Every penny of that £70m has already been spent or allocated to provide direct, practical support to those injured in the line of duty and we have a ‘wish list’ of at least a further £42m if we are to achieve all we want to do today; no doubt we will need more."
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
