Story
Wahey! I managed to beat 3.30 - actually a personal best time of 3 hrs 29 mins 17 secs. It was a warm day but I drank at every water station and the crowds in London are fantastically supportive and kept me going. Thanks again to everyone who sponsored me!
I reached £2000 and shaved my head and will keep it shaved for three months as promised. Thanks so much for all the kind comments and support, I really appreciate it. There's a serious side to this which is that studies funded by Wessex Medical Research truly can make a difference to Medicine across the world. For example, they are funding research into nanoparticles which can deliver new drug treatments for Alzheimer's into the brain. My first wife Sharon's mum Joan and Auntie Eileen, who both died very recently, suffered from this and although they lived long lives it seriously affected the end for them and their children. I don't want that for myself or my children and it's the biggest challenge facing Medicine today. Live life to the full and do what you can to help, thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This was my ninth London Marathon and my 18th overall. The old bones are starting to creak and bits are dropping off, so take pity on an old geezer and be generous with your donations, thanks.
