going back to Kenya where I was born 60 years ago and trying to raise money as I do it., 12 October 2012

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

In 2013 I will be turning 60 and I want to use the opportunity to get fit, raise money for charity and visit Kenya where I was born and lived for 10 years.

I will be joining other women for an incredible 400 km ride though the Rift Valley over 5 days – from the slopes of Majestic Mount Kenya to the shores of magnificent Lake Victoria. Both on and off road – experiencing Africa away from the usual tourist trails though savannah plains, wildlife game parks, tropical rainforests and traditional villages.

I am aiming to raise a minimum of £1600 for 3 women's cancer charities and every penny counts!

The money raised will go to support Breast Cancer Care, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, which all provide practical and emotional support for women and fund research.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
