I have decided to raise funds for an independent charity called The Brokerage Citylink that has worked extremely hard to give me (and thousands of others) opportunities that I wouldn't have had otherwise growing up in Hackney. 

For over 20 years, the charity proactively seeks to create and develop skills and career opportunities for young people living/studying in underprivileged areas surrounding the City and Canary Wharf. They aim to raise aspirations of young people in London by providing workshops for public school pupils, apprenticeships, internships and jobs to college and university students. 

Why do they do this? Despite London being one of the world's leading financial centres, its surrounding boroughs suffer from disadvantage and unequal opportunities. 

P.S. If you're in London on Sunday, come and show your support for a wonderful event, cheer on the runners and enjoy yourselves (with a drink or few) ! I will also be aiming to stay smiling the whole way ! :D
