Story
To celebrate the life of our good friend Maggie Carlier we are holding a shape up workout in her memory with the hope to raise money for one of her supported charities – Oakhaven Hospice Trust.
We all find it very sad and hard to believe that Maggie has passed. Maggie was full of life, fun, humour with a zest for travel and living life to the full, enjoying time with her husband Roy and her friends, walking the sea wall, exploring the Galapagos Islands, volunteering for Oakhaven and spending time visiting her two sons with their families and her grandchildren in New Zealand and the USA are to mention a few things I know she loved.
Our last class together was a Friday step class – at the end of the sweaty workout I apologised that the next couple of Saturday classes would not be happening and with her beaming smile Maggie said, “Oh that’s a shame those were the only Saturday classes I was planning on doing!” In the 7 years, I’ve known Maggie I had never managed to persuade her into a weekend class, and it was a silly ongoing joke between us that’s now sadly come to an end.
So in Maggie’s honour please join us on Friday 16th July at 9.00 am for “Maggie’s class” – please donate – Maggie would be thrilled and where possible wear your hair in bunches!
