In August, I will begin my gap year with Scripture Union Scotland. I will be based in Edinburgh on the gap:local placement, where I will work with children and young people both within and out with schools through SU groups, community based projects and helping to organise weekends away. I'll also take part in a two week international mission.

SU camps have been the highlights of my year since primary 5 and I have gained so much out of them, between growing in my faith, making great friends and having fun! As soon as I read about the gap year I immediately knew it was right for me and I'll be able to work with young people, hopefully seeing them enjoy the work of SU as I have. 

I'm going to need to raise £4,000 which I know will be a real challenge for me! I'll be selling cakes and hand creams, and have a couple of events to raise money, but contributing through JustGiving would be a great help too. It is a fast, secure way to donate, and the money will be sent directly to the charity.
