Julie's story:

In 2019 Julie was suddenly diagnosed with an advanced brain tumour and given very little time to live. It will forever be a shock to us all, but in typical selfless fashion, she left us with the specific instructions to get on with life and live it in the fullest possible way.

There are many types of brain tumours, some treatable and some not. We were definitely in the latter category and it was the feeling of helplessness, which we all struggled with the most. Thankfully she did not suffer a long drawn out deterioration, which we know many people do and she died soon after spending a perfect week in the countryside with her closest family. We understand therefore, that the speed at which this happened, with very little warning, could also be seen as a blessing in disguise but it is mainly a stark reminder of the need for a better understanding of a disease, which we simply must do more to beat.

The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of research in this field and is doing an amazing job of advancing our understanding but they need our support! We set up this supporter’s page to allow anyone and everyone who wants to help this amazing charity in fighting this ruthless condition. Like us, you can honour the life of this amazing woman by living life to the max and raising some money whilst doing it.
