Story

This charity is very close to my heart as I recently suffered a miscarriage at 8 weeks pregnant and also 4 and a half years a go at 6 weeks pregnant. Although both my miscarriages were very early on it’s still been very difficult for both me and my husband to come to terms with.

I know though that there are people who go through far worse then what we’ve been through and loose babies much later on and I can’t even imagine what it must be like for them. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in Miscarriage and people are just expected to deal with it .

Myself and my husband are lucky enough to have one beautiful healthy little boy but some couples that go through this aren’t even that lucky.

The one thing I have realised through both and speaking to people who have been through the same  is there is little to no medical support for couples that go through this whether it’s early or late. It’s a very taboo subject and people are just kind of sent on their way to deal with it with no help or advice on what to expect . The first time I was given a two page leaflet and the most recent time I didn’t even get that but my GP gave me the link to the Miscarriage Association..

The miscarriage association is there to offer understanding and support to help women and their partners through a very traumatic time that they don’t otherwise get within the general system or nhs.

There are other social media groups that have been set up by women who have been through it and those help as well but there is no real system of support.

I’d just like to raise some funds for this charity that helps so many women and their partners through a very difficult time .
