At last I have been successful and secured a ballot place in the Virgin Money London Marathon and will be running the 26.2 miles on 23rd April 2017. I am absolutely delighted and a little bit scared and have got my training off to a good start.

This marathon gives me a perfect excuse to raise some money for Breast Cancer Care; a charity who work tirelessly to support women and their families as they face the challenge of this disease. 50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year, it affects the people that we care about, the people that we love, the people that we're not ready to lose.

Breast Cancer Care provides patient support and advice, online discussion forums and telephone support along with producing comprehensive  information packs for women which they are given when diagnosed. They fund the amazing work of breast care nurses who are able to give women personalised support when they need it most.
