What -

Not content with our (mostly wet and windy) daily cycling commutes we've decided to take a holiday, up the miles and cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats!

When -

We will catch a train to Penzance on the 22nd May and hopefully return to London having cycled to John O'Groats on June 6th (2010). That’s the plan.… 12 days averaging 80 miles per day, and 1000 miles in total. Ouch!

In aid of -

Making It Better - the Daniel Courtney Trust http://www.makingitbetter.org.uk/

This charity has close connections to us as it’s a charity which raises funds for research and supports children suffering from microvillous atrophy - the subject of Anna's PhD. They also supported her during the final months of research identifying mutations in microvillous atropy sufferers, for which she is extremely grateful.

The charity also aim to provide equipment and facilities for Great Ormond Street Hospital, Birmingham Children's hospital, and Edwards House, and to increase awareness of organ donations.

The boring bit -

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please dig deep -

We would very much appreciate any support you can offer to our chosen charity, especially as this will help us focus our efforts as we climb the hills of Cornwall, Devon and Scotland! Please also keep your fingers crossed that the wind and rain is kind to us over our chosen 12 days!

Thanks, Anna and Stuart
