Anna's Great North Run
Fundraising for Marie Curie
Fundraising for Marie Curie
Hi!
Thank you so much for visiting my ‘JustGiving’ page and for supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care.
On Sunday 18th September I am attempting to tackle a half marathon and will be taking part in the Bupa Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields. Now in its 31st year, the Great North Run once again promises to be a brilliant event attracting over 50,000 runners from across the world.
This year I will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, which provides high quality nursing to terminally ill patients. Unfortunately around 40% of people develop cancer at some point in their lives and every year cancer claims the lives of more than 150,000 people in the UK. Last year Marie Curie cared for more than 31,700 people in the community and in its hospices.
Any donations that you make will not only push me closer to the 13 mile (22km) finish-line, but also provide Marie Curie with the essential resources it requires to continue its amazing work. Please dig deep and help to support this worthwhile charity!
Each race participant is provided with a vest badge to display who they are running for and I will personally be running in memory of one dear relative and for a close friend. If you would like to make a donation in memory or celebration of a friend or relative who has fought with this terrible disease, I would be more than honoured to wear their name upon my back.
Thank you so much,
Anna xxx
