Story
In September I was going to run the Ealing Half but in August picked up a calf injury which meant I couldn't even walk. I was gutted and recovery was not pretty, there were tears. Still wanting to be involved I was able to volunteer for the Ealing Half and look forward to running it next year.
Meanwhile a new target was needed. 10km seemed like a good target when I couldn't run 5km in September. So this morning I ran a 10km leg, a Virtual race, the Asics World EKIDEN run. I joined the Run Mummy Run Team 8, six women running apart, we don't even know one another and we're running on different days, but using our km to make up a marathon distance, all running for MIND, it was a great feeling to run together in spirit.
So yes I ran it this morning but would love it if you'd sponsor me in running to raise awareness of MIND and monies for the charity. My Mum passed away nearly 2.5 years ago, the grief still hits hard sometimes but it was a great way to remember her today. Especially the flowers at the end of my run.
