We support NHS services across North Wales to enhance the experience of local patients

Story

This week my dad's partner, Caroline, began a 6 week treatment plan for throat cancer at the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

In an attempt to feel like I'm helping, I thought I'd raise some money for the NHS in the area so I've chosen to support Awyr Las by cycling 100 miles over the next 5 weeks.

For some 100 miles isn't a massive distance in 5 weeks but it's a lot for me and I'll be doing it all on my Brompton which only has little wheels.

Awyr Las can provide life-changing equipment and services for patients in hospitals and in communities across North Wales. From small things like comfortable chairs for patients in the Emergency Department and attending dialysis, to cutting-edge technology for the cancer, stroke and special care baby units - it all makes a big difference.

About the charity

Awyr Las (Blue Sky) is the North Wales NHS Charity. Through the charity you can support the specific hospital wards, departments or community healthcare services that are closest to your heart. Your support helps fund added extras which the NHS in North Wales cannot provide.
