Story

  • Pete passed away peacefully at home on Friday 27th March, after a long brave battle with cancer. His wife Fiona and daughter Annie were with him. This was only made possible from the help received from Blythe House Hospice and Tideswell Surgery.

Due to the coronavirus we were only able to have a very small intimate funeral service instead of the much larger gathering of wider family and many friends from near and far which we had hoped for.

Pete's wishes were that any monies donated after his death go to the two following causes:

Friends of St John, Tideswell (www.cathedralofthepeaktideswell.org.uk).  Pete lived opposite the church and had organised a fundraising event to ‘Start the Clock’ which had fallen into disrepair. He was a big supporter of the church building.

The second cause is Blythe House Hospice in Chapel en le Frith (www.blythehousehospice.org.uk).  Blythe House adds quality to life by providing the highest levels of support and care for people in the High Peak who are affected by cancer and other life limiting illnesses. It also provides a ‘hospice at home’ experience for those people wishing to die at home with their loved ones close by. Donating to Blythe House will help other families give their loved ones the end of life care that is so important.

Thank you for donating in memory of Pete.
