Story

On the 20th December 2021 I lost my mum to a 7 month battle with lung cancer that spread. This was the toughest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my entire life and I cannot thank this wonderful charity enough for the care and support they gave, especially on her last day ensuring she passed peacefully at home as she wanted.

The Diana Princess of Wales Hospice Care at Home Trust is dedicated to funding the ‘hospice at home’ for the Isle of Man. The support provides high quality nursing care and support not only to individual patients, but also to their family, friends and carers.

Any patients with a life-limiting illness who are resident in the Isle of Man can benefit from the service. Funding from the Trust currently helps to provide nearly 3,000 hours of care for patients each year, allowing them to be nursed at home.

I will be trekking Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2025. This is a brand new challenge to me and I very much look forward to taking part.

Please donate if you can as every penny counts!

Thanks so much,

Ann-Marie xx

The Diana Princess of Wales Hospice Care at Home Trust (Hospice at Home) was created in 1998 by Don & Ali Westacott to provide Hospice at Home services in the Isle of Man, and funded by the Westacotts for four years. Since then the Trust has continued to fundraise to help provide this valuable service. The Trust receives no Government funding. The aim of the Trust is to provide high-quality nursing care to support the individual patient, the family, their friends, and their carers when the patient has chosen to remain at home.
