Story
Hi,
Last year Dax's aunt Viola was diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily it was caught early enough and successfully treated. I promised her that I would run a marathon in aid of cancer research to mark her battle. Her story is one of many that show there is now hope and life afterwards. This is thanks to an enormous amount of research which has led to the disovery of new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. However, as we all know it is still a serious disease, sometimes with a very poor prognosis and there is still work to be done. Cancer Research UK is dedicated to beating cancer through research (check out their website for more information).
On a more practical note- I've just started training and realised that it's going to be a much harder task than I anticipated. I just about managed an 8 mile run this weekend- and I'm somehow going to have to get that up to 26 miles. I thought I better get this page up and running before I back out!
No donation is too small as every single pound counts. It'll also motivate me to keep the training up when it gets tough. Please circulate to others who may be interested in donating.
Thanks a lot,
Ann
