I shall be attempting the Great North Run (13 miles!!) this year as one of 130 lifeboat runners.   The RNLI provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland.  The run raised 20K last year and that was sufficient to provide a year's training for a lifeboat crew.  

My new fundraising target is £1000 as I will be running in memory of my brother who wanted to volunteer for the RNLI.
