Story
Last year I told you about Clive, Angus and Isla's Granny's husband. He was diagnosed with cancer in February of last year and all through the diagnosis and subsequent treatment and recovery, Macmillan were there. Mum and Clive were given advice, support and a listening ear. They were always there when Granny needed them.
In October Clive was given the all clear. Naturally we were relieved and tried to encourage Clive to work on his recovery. Things didn't go well and in December he was readmitted to hospital with a rare complication from his cancer. In January, Angus, Isla and I travelled to Macclesfield to give Granny support. Within a day of us arriving, she was called to hospital. Clive had been taken ill and died suddenly. Angus, Isla and I stayed to support my Mum through the next few weeks and the funeral.
Macmillan was there for Mum through everything. Without their work the whole thing would have been harder for her and subsequently for us. The work they do is invaluable. Sadly there are many more people who still feel they have to go through cancer alone. We need to support Macmillan to support them. Give generously.
