Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am going to attempt to walk the highest peak in Wales, England and Scotland. Easy I hear you say- but....I'm going to cycle between them (450 miles) and do it in 4 days! Along with 2 friends and a support vehicle we will be setting off up Mt Snowdon on June 2nd.
Why oh why I hear you sigh.....!
Since I started work at Grove Medical Practice I have caught the cycling bug. In October last year I even sold my car and do most of my home visits by bike now! I really enjoy feeling fitter and last Summer my brother in law and I in an idle moment at a BBQ thought we would set ourself a crazy goal for this year. Training has been hard but we are on track.
I thought I would use this challenge as an opportunity to raise awareness of dementia but also to raise some money for Alzheimer's society. Working as a GP every day at Grove Medical Practice I see and share some of the difficulties a diagnosis of dementia brings to individuals, their families and loved ones.
Alzheimer's Society provide resources, advice and local support groups. They also campaign for a better quality of life for people with dementia and a greater understanding of dementia. They fund research into the causes, cures and prevention of the disease.
