Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. I have decided to do this in memory of my father Captain Adrian Jucker in his Centenary year. He was both my hero and a war hero in WW2. He was awarded the Military Cross for his bravery as a bomb disposal expert at the battle of El Alamein. At the age of 21 his actions, while severely injured himself, prevented many further casualties. He also served in the Normandy landings and Italy. He was injured many times, but returned home to live a long, happy and adventurous life. As I am an O.A.P. with asthma and an old injury to my left foot and ankle, this walk is a challenge for me. Inspired by my father's courage and of many like him of his generation, I am determined to complete my walk within three weeks. Both Adrian and my mother loved North Devon and he completed his life here in 2001.
I am doing this walk in support of all cancer sufferers who have been especially vulnerable during the current pandemic.
