I appreciate I have exhausted my friends and family and their wonderful support to the charities I have challenged myself for. Each one worthy of our help.

But what animal could need for better care than the ones who are forced to exhaust themselves often to the point of death, the working animals of the world. Donkeys, mules, camels and livestock give every inch of their lives to the communities that need them. The communities rely upon their very backs, their strength, their ability to walk through rubble and often man made filthy conditions. SPANA are ensuring they get the treatment and care that the communities cannot afford to give, education to the communities that don't understand the attention their animals need to live long healthy lives. In return they have hard working helpers necessary to survive and assist their daily tasks, sweet natured help.

SPANA is an animal welfare charity for the working animals of the world. Animals are essential to millions of families in the developing world. SPANA improve the lives of working animals through, free veterinary care, education & training and emergency response.

Here are just a few examples of how the money we raise will go a long way for the world’s working animals: 

• £9.35 can provide a properly fitting harness to replace one that causes painful sores

• £15.00 buys 25 padded doughnut bandages to protect an animal’s wound so it can heal

 • £38.07 pays for a medical kit including antibiotics and injections to treat wounded animals

• £50.00 can buy five animal welfare books and an encyclopaedia to educate children in the countries where we work

• £87.60 can immunise 60 donkeys against deadly tetanus

• £150.00 can help to pay for an adult education workshop, where owners can learn about animal welfare
