Story
Hi all,
Thank you for taking the time to look at my page.
I have been working with people with learning disabilities for over 15 years and have been lucky enough to work with a wide range of people that have showed me the importance of caring and supporting one another.
I began managing a service in New Malden in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. Over the course of this time, I have made wonderful connections with both those I support and staff. The young men who live at the service have a number of additional needs and sensory issues that makes day to day life in a busy house hard for them to manage. So the staff team and I had the idea of developing an old abandoned shed, in the garden, into a nice relaxing outhouse for all to enjoy. The idea is to create a warm environment with different comforts for those we support to enjoy when life in the house becomes a little to noisy and unbearable. This outhouse will help stop difficulties such as challenging behaviour that can effect individuals in the service.
The outhouse we are looking to purchase is around £2000 and after a successful summer party where we raised half the money we are on the final push to have the funds to make this dream a reality.
So on 24th November 2022, me and Ross Brem Wilson will be dying our HAIR blue to raise the rest of the money needed. This will take place at The Lights up event in Teddington at 4pm. Please come along and watch me take part in this stunt and if you see me around make sure you give me a high 5.
All donations big or small will be very much appreciated and it will change the lives of 5 very special young men.
