As many of our friends and family know, my hubby of thirty years has had a rough twelve months.   After a visit to our GP, he was referred for a colonoscopy.   At that appointment, the doctor explained that he had bowel cancer. That diagnosis happens, according to current statistics, to fifty people each week in the UK.   It's been a long year and there's another operation on the cards for September.  He's already had two rounds of chemotherapy and one of radio therapy along with an operation in February to have a stoma fitted.   The surgeon had explained that the next operation is a big one - the first one wasn't a walk in the park I can tell you!  The treatments he's had st Velindre Hospital has been outstanding at a time when I felt utterly useless.  To show a little bit of thanks, I've decided to dye my hair turquoise in honour of the colon cancer ribbon colour and then, two weeks later, I'm having it all shaved off in our Estate Agents in Risca  photos will be taken and posted on Facebook. If you would like to donate a little, even the equivalent of a coffee, it will be a little more to add to my total.
