Im taking part in the Race to the Base in support of my local air ambulance service. The Great North Air Ambulance Service provides world-class, critical care across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care team delivers life-saving treatments at the scene which is what they did for me after I fell from my horse and suffered an open fracture of my ankle, without the treatment I had in the middle of a muddy, wet field by the team I would of certainly lost my foot and even worse not been here today to tell my story due to the blood loss I had. They were amazing and I cannot thank them enough and I hope all my friends will support me in doing this walk.
