As you know, I can't run, can't climb and generally can't do anything fantastically sporty...however, you know I can talk and I can tell a good story.

So here's the deal - on May 26th 2011 at the Marriott Hotel, Liverpool, I will be participating in 'Stand Up for Claire House'.  This is a charity comedy night to raise funds for this excellent children's hospice.  14 'volunteers' have been trained by a professional stand up comedian to deliver a 5-7 minute set, all of us competing for the prestigous 'Claire House Comedian 2011'.

Tickets are on sale for £15 each - if you are around the NW on the 26th then please ask for a ticket.  If you can't make it, please make a donation. For example, the cost of a ticket (£15) will fund the hydro therapy pool for a morning.  What ever you can give will be very much appreciated by the patients and staff.  Why not make a donation and send me your best joke - help the hospice and help your mate write her comedy set!

Located in Bebington on the Wirral, Claire House is a bright, vibrant place of hope. In addition to caring for our children and young adults, we also focus on the needs of the whole family, providing bereavement and other support for as long as it is needed. With no guaranteed government funding we need to raise in excess of £2.5 million each year to maintain our present levels of service.
Our specialist nursing team also work in the community through our ‘Hospice to Home’ programme which offers paediatric palliative care in the family home.  With a hospice to home service also operating from our Liverpool office we are now reaching more families than in previous years and hope to see this grow in other areas too.
