Amnesty International - London to Paris Cycle Challenge · 2 June 2010

Amnesty International UK is movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Some of our campaigns includes refugees, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, and conflict-affected countries. When we unite even the smallest acts of humanity make a difference.

Story

I made it!

After a very early start on 2nd June we covered over 100 miles through pretty villages, up gruelling hills and had a well earned rest on the ferry, before reaching our first stop-over in Calais.  Days two and three took us through beautiful countyside in northern France - including some serious climbs, speedy decents and a puncture - but the spectacular scenery, good food and great company kept me going. Day four was a bit more leisurely, including a couple of beer stops before 77 of us arrived jubilantly into Paris wearing our blue t-shirts with great pride.  The waves and cheers and horn blowing from the crowds ensured there wasn't a dry eye in the house when we got to the Eiffel Tower!

Thanks to everyone who sponsored me - and for those of you who were waiting for proof - there's no excuse now!  It was hard work, really hard work, but it was worth it.  Your support and generosity are very much appreciated.
