Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I never intended to run Sheffield Half ever again (not a fan of the continuous hill) !
However in order to help raise some much needed funds in memory of Jack Faulkner I've been inspired to join others in raising money towards the people and services that helped him and his family throughout his illness and treatment.
I attended college with Jack's dad Dan, our families have been good friends for over 20 years. Our kids have all mixed together and grown up enjoying each others company. None more so than my son Oscar who thought Jack was fabulous.
Jack was an inspiration and hero to many not only with his attitude and bravery throughout his illness but before also. He was a regular helper at Autism Playschemes, only attended by Oscar if Jack was sure to be there. Oscar looked on Jack as a bit of a big brother figure, hanging on his computer and tech knowledge and enjoying battles on the mobile, Nintendo and PC games. Jack would indulge Oscar for hours despite the large age gap and challenging tasks he'd be expected to partake in.
I visited Jack more than once on ward 5 in Sheffield Children's Hospital and saw first hand some of the hard work, dedication and care the staff offer. The extra funds are much needed within the ward to help the nurses and patients every day. They all will really appreciate the extra equipment and entertainment this money can go towards for the patients in future.
Please if you can afford to donate however much it will be greatly appreciated, thanks
