26 mile bike ride completed in the pouring rain!!!

I've been donating money to the NSPCC through monthly direct debits for years and I'd like to raise enough money to make a real contribution to their cause.

I've never ran more than 10k before and now I have a place in the Virgin London Marathon 2013 as part of the NSPCC's TeamGO.

I've already paid £100 for my registration fee and I've kicked off the fundraising with a further £100. I hope this shows my commitment to this great cause.

Please could everyone remember to tick the Gift Aid box as this will raise a further 20% for the NSPCC. Please give as much as you can afford, it's much appreciated. JustGiving send the money to charity immediately so the sooner you donate, the sooner the charity can put your money to work.

Running the marathon will not be easy at all. I'm not a natural long distance runner (hence why I've never run over 10k) so this task will be extremely challenging and will require all the will power I possess to keep me training throughout the coming months.

Everyone thinks I'm bonkers for doing this and they're probably right but I'm determined to cross the line whilst raising in excess of £2000 for the NSPCC.
