Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

 

As you know I've signed up to run the London marathon in 2012 for a great charity, Anthony Nolan (and because the competitive bit of me wants to make sure I beat the friends who ran London in 2011!).

 

I chose Anthony Nolan because they do amazing work.  They're the UK's most successful stem cell register, saving lives every day by matching people in need of lifesaving transplants to stem cell donors.   They want to save even more lives and additional funds to help further their research and increase the number of people on their register are crucial.

 

The other reason that I chose Anthony Nolan specifically, is that a close friend of mine lost his sister and father within a year to blood cancer.  I want to use my marathon effort to stop this happening to other families and friends.

 

Of the money you donate:

83% will go to finding and recruiting new donors,

9% will go on research,

8% goes on fundraising and only the remaining,

1% is spent on admin.
