Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I feel a bit of a fraud. I have a type of cancer - it's called follicular lymphoma. But, hand on heart, I haven't ever felt really ill with it. I have had 6 months worth of chemo but for the last 3 years the lumps that reappeared don't seem to have got any larger (touch wood). It hasn't gone away, I have regular check ups. And I'm told I'll never get rid of it. It's all a matter of dealing with it - both physically and emotionally. So I have tried really hard to make things easier for my body to cope and resist the cancer. Exercise is one way. Keeping fit, in my view, is a way of dealing with things. So that's why I am setting myself a few challenges. This year I'm doing a half marathon and a full marathon. So I thought - why not see if I can get some contributions on the way for cancer research. Being selfish - it may help me personally in that some clever people might come up with a cure for lymphoma. I'm sure we're very close to some breakthroughs in cancer treatments, or better still, preventions. So, if you feel inclined, please consider contributing a few pounds to this charity. Thank you.
