Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It's my 50th birthday and people are asking me what I would like as a present. For one thing it is hard to believe that I am 50, so want to forget as much as possible, so I could have just asked for loads of booze to help me do the job! Instead what I would like most of all is for anyone who might even be thinking of getting me a present to donate a little something to the MacMillan charity instead.
My Mum, who most of you won't know had a lot of help from these wonderful people during the time she was going through cancer and raised a lot of money herself through charitable work. Sadly she died after a long battle, but I know she would want to thank those that helped her during that time. I am nowhere near as hardworking as she was, even when she was ill, so this seems to me a way that I can do something to honour the memory of my lovely Mum and to help out a little bit.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So instead of spending money on a present, please think about giving a little to MacMillan instead. Thanks
