Story

Thursday 28th January - 5.50am

Our beautiful lovely mom passed away. She was funny, lovely, caring and kind. She was an amazing baker, and was well known in the village for her cakes and sherry trifle. She loved to travel, and even at the tender age of 84yrs had planned to go abroad with my father who is nearly 90. Her love of her family, life, people and parties made her happy. She was kind to a fault, and helped anyone down and out, no matter who they were, or what they were. She taught us values of hard work, honesty, kindness, caring towards others at all times. We were not rich in money terms, but were so rich in happiness, love and fun,. We love you so much and our hearts are broken. We don't want to carry on without you.......but know that you would want us to, and want us to look after dad, which we will. Everyday we will love and miss you.....but walk proud with the love and values you instilled within us....and everyday make you proud. God Bless our beautiful Mom xxx

Our mom didn't have long to fully take on the enormity of her condition, from diagnosis to death it was just 4 months. We watched her change from the lovely person she was into a shell of her former self. It was so painful for our family to sit at her bedside and watch her deteriorate, the anguish etched on her face as she faded away

I would like to give something back to the lovely staff on the Deansley Ward at New Cross Hospital where she spent her last days, their care was faultless to a t. The money raised would help improve the comfort of future cancer patients in their end of life journey.

Now anyone who knows me will tell you that I love cycling, it is my life, I cycle whenever I can, wherever I can, but there is one thing I haven't done - cycle 100 miles. I plan to ride from my house in Perton, passing my moms childhood home at Trescott to the start of a 100 mile cycle event in Bridgnorth, complete it and cycle home again, that should give me 119 miles in total. All I ask is that you sponsor me on this personal challenge, donate to my cause via this page. The event details can be seen via the following link
