Story
Following the COVID vaccination I suffered some very rare side effects, including paralysis of the right hand side from the shoulder down. I am now left weak in the right hand side and walking with a stick. It feels like my body is in two halves one side feels normal and the other is not me at all. Without my stick my leg gives way and I am prone to dropping things and don't have the upper body strength in that side to do the things I used to. I am under the stroke team who so far believe it to be a functional stroke as a result of the vaccination. The treatment and recovery is the same, much relying on positive outlook and hope for the future. I have not had a neurological stroke but the physical and emotional impact is very similar and distressing. This charity helps Stroke survivors regain themselves through exercise a key to wellbeing and positivity within recovery. I never understood fully the impact a stroke had on someones life but i do now. In November I am going to give up some of the things I like as I am not physically able to do a practical/physical challenge yet. The things I will abstain from are alcohol, crisps, biscuits and the hardest one for me CHEESE - I have that in everything and eat it every day so that will be a real challenge. Please donate to help support this little known charity - Thank you
