Story

Hello all,

Starting on the 11th June, I will be cycling from Land's End to John o' Groats (the length of the UK, about 1000 miles) in 10 days. It is something I have always wanted to do and it's also an opportunity to raise some money for charity. The charity I have chosen is World Child Cancer. This is what they say about themselves:

Childhood cancer is curable yet 4 out of 5 children with cancer in developing countries die from the disease. Every year approximately 250,000 children and teenagers are diagnosed with cancer around the world. In developed countries children have a 75% chance of survival thanks to huge advances in treatment over the last 30 years. However, in low to middle income countries typically less than 20% of children survive.

Five years ago, my Granny died of cancer. Her great love in life was the wellbeing of children and she would be the first to acknowledge what a wonderful cause this is.

I would be very grateful if you can spare a few pounds to spur me on my way. When the time comes you can check my facebook to see my progress.

Andy

In low- and middle-income countries fewer than 1 in 10 children with cancer are diagnosed, treated or given pain relief. World Child Cancer improves cancer care for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international twinning partnerships between medics hospitals and parent support groups
