Story
The Helpdesk at St. Martin's does an amazing job working with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in the centre of Birmingham.
St. Martin's is the parish church of Birmingham and stands in the ancient Bull Ring markets area of the city centre, next to the Bullring shopping centre. The Helpdesk works with around 1,000 clients a year and is staffed by trained volunteers offering listening, advice and referrals to other agencies and services as well as practical help such as emergency food and local travel, along with ongoing support in a friendly environment.
But like many services across Birmingham, funding is always a struggle and so with the Great Birmingham Run looming on Sunday 23 October I thought this would be a great opportunity to help support their work by entering and raising money for them. I will be doing so as part of the Birmingham Diocesan initiative “Run the Race keep the faith” where we are aiming to have 100 Christian runners take part to raise £100,000 for charity.
Please help by donating now! It's easy and secure using the Justgiving website and the money will be paid straight to St Martin's Centre for Health and Healing and will go towards helping the most vulnerable in Birmingham.
Thank you for your time and generosity.
