Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 2nd October I'll be taking part in the 10k Great Scottish Run in Glasgow. This is only my second organised running event, following on from last year's GSR, and I'm looking to improve on my time and raise more funds for the wonderful cause that is the Lily Foundation.
The Foundation works to support research into Mitochondrial Disease, and to support families affected by it. To learn more about the disease and the work of the Foundation please visit their website: http://www.thelilyfoundation.org.uk/
You can also see a video of the effect mitochondrial disease has on those affected, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JDh7JaX_Nc
As many of you may know, this charity is close to my heart. Lily for whom it's named would have gone to school with my daughters (she was born a few months after my younger daughter Jenny). However, tragically, Lily was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease and died aged just eight months.
I would be so grateful for your support. Any donation of any size is very welcome. You will helping an amazing cause, helping those with the condition and their families, and helping research towards a cure.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I'm beginning a course of training that will hopefully help me through the day, and help me set an improved time. I'll post updates here on how that goes.
Thank you in anticipation for supporting me in this.
