Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In June 2012 I am planning to ride over 1000miles from Land's End to John O'Groats in order to raise funds for Alzheimer's Society. This will be as a tribute to my late father Eric Smerdon who lost his fight against vascular dementia in February 2011.

One in three people over 65 will die from dementia. It is more than just memory loss; it can devastate the lives of sufferers and their families alike.

Alzheimer's Society provide practical support for people with dementia and their carers in many ways. They also campaign to raise awareness of the challenges faced by sufferers and are at the forefront of funding research into the cause, cure and prevention of the disease.

Please give what you can to support me in my own challenge and together we may live to see a world where dementia can be defeated.

Thanks once again

Andrew
