Those living in ‘light poverty’ rely on fuel-based lighting; often from home-made kerosene lamps.  This leads to long term health risks, poisoning, burns, fires and explosions

Every year 1.5 Billion women and children die from illnesses related to inhalation of kerosene fumes 

GravityLight  aims to change this and our ride to Switzerland aims to help them do so.  The GravityLight is an innovative way of generating light from gravity.  It takes just 3 seconds to lift the weight that powers GravityLight creating 25 minutes of light on its descent
